2489 has just celebrated its 66th year since it entered service from Harborne Garage in July 1950 from where it operated on the Outer Circle II route as well as the 5,6,7,12,20,21 and 22 routes until 1968. It was then transferred to Liverpool Street Garage working on the 8,15,16 and 17 routes until withdrawn at the end of March 1969 having operated some 555,000 miles.

2489 was purchased for preservation in September 1969 and since then has operated every year at bus rallies throughout England, Wales and once to Northern Ireland. The Crosley twice won Best Bus at the Show at Showbus and attended the first Buses Festival in 2014.
